Arsenal stand a good chance for the league

It may still be early days in this new Premier League season, and the destination of this coveted Premier League trophy has not been decided yet, but one thing I can assure, is that come May, we will either be crowning Arsenal or Chelsea as champions of England.

Why Arsenal Can Win The League

Now some of you may be reading this thinking I've gone mad already writing off the likes of Manchester United and big spenders Manchester City and branded a team who hasn't tasted silverware in 5 years as title favourites but here are 6 reasons why I believe Arsenal will be crowned champions come May:

1. The form of Theo Walcott

The young Englishman has already showed that he is capable of reproducing the form he showed in that magical night in Croatia having already bagged a hat-trick in his first full game this season.

2. The presence of Marouane Chamakh

The Moroccan international provides Arsenal with something that has eluded the Gunners in previous years, a 'target man'. Chamakh has already showed signs of 'roughing up' opposing defenders and has justified his statement that he is 'comfortable with the ball in the air' with a fine header to round off the 6-0 drubbing of Blackpool.

3. Young English Talent

The likes of Jack WIlshire, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Henri Lansbury and Kieran Gibbs have all showed that they may have what it takes to breakthrough into the Arsenal team and this young English talent may be the key to ending our trophy-less period.

              4. Jack Wilshire

Although there are many young talents breaking through into the Arsenal team at this present time I        regard Wilshire as by far the strongest. Jack has already showed he has what it takes to cut it in the Premier League when he was on loan at Bolton last year capping in fine performances away at West Ham and at Chelsea. Jack also looked extremely comfortable in the opening day fixure at Liverpool where he faced a strong Liverpool midfield which contained the likes of Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard and Javier Maschereno.

5. The arrivals of Koscielny and Squillaci

Last year we had many injuries at the back and with the likes of Silvestre stepping in as cover didn't give Arsenal fans much confidence and frankly didn't do any favours to our title chances, however this year with four decent defenders in the form of Koscielny, Squillaci, Djourou and the ever reliable Vermaelen I feel we will see Arsenal conceding less goals than last season.

6.A fully fit Van Persie and Cesc Fabregas

These two are good enough to grace any team in the world and I really feel that if these two have good seasons, Arsenal have a great chance of ending their trophy drought and bringing the Premiership back to the Emirates.
